A World Full of Imagination

" I like nonsense; it wakes up the brain cells.  Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living; it's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope.  Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life's realities." - Dr. Seuss

From pretending to be a animal to a different person with a silly voice, Lilly's imagination is a vast universe of creativity where she spends most of her day pretending.  One of her many great qualities is her creative mind that constantly takes us on a journey.  To give you an idea into our world a trip to the grocery store would be Me (Mommy) pushing the grocery cart down the aisles with Lilly on all fours follows me and barking at me like a cute little puppy, and me talking back to her as if she were a puppy telling her when to sit and stay. Believe it or not handling it as if she is a cute little puppy is a hundred times easier then trying to get her to not pretend. Whether at school, a store, the park, or at home, Lilly always wants to "play pretend.". Her imagination is her safety net to the world. If Lilly starts to feel uncomfortable and out of her realm she just simply starts to pretend. Wouldn't this be great in the adult world? If you get uncomfortable at work, pretend to be a pirate and all is well! Though this may sometimes get interesting in public, we will always live a much more colorful life as a family and that to us is very precious.
